ROUTE TO YOUR MOTORCYLE LICENCE


To get your full motorcycle license you need to do all of the following:- 

 

​Take a CBT course,    - This is usually a one day course, We do this. 

Once its done you can ride a 125cc bike as a learner.

 

​​Pass a motorcycle theory test,    -- You book this with the DSA on 0300 200 1122      

 

You cannot do the following tests until you have the above CBT and Theory.

You will almost certainly need training, how much training depends on experience and aptitude.

 

​Pass a Motorcycle Module 1 test,  --You need to be good a slow control and confident for 32mph swerves and emergency stops.  TEST FEE IS £15,50

 

Pass a Motorcycle Module 2 test. -- you need to be confident on the bike and your roadcraft needs to be good. TEST FEE IS £75.00

There are 3 different bike sizes that you can take your test on, at various ages and experience.

The test is exactly the same, its just the bike that is different

 

If you are under 19 yrs. old you can only do this on a 125cc bike. ----  once you pass you can ride a 125cc bike without L plates

 

2 years after you pass the 125cc test ( or if you are 19) you can do it on a 400cc 46.5 BHP bike and then ride a 46.5 bhp bike. However you cannot practice for the test on your own you must have a fully qualified instructor with you at all times.

 

2 years after you pass the 400cc test OR If you are over 24 you can take the tests on a 600cc bike   once you pass you can ride anything. However you cannot practice for the test on your own you must have a fully qualified instructor with you at all times.

 

 

We will sell you as many hours training as you need  ( see leaflet for courses and prices)

You can book your own tests or we book them for you and you pay us as we book them.
