Standard motorcycle licence, 125cc motorbike training.

The Normal way to pass your motorbike test is to take a CBT course, learn and take your test on a 125cc motorcycle.
Once you have passed the test you can ride any size bike but it must be restricted to 33bhp. You ride the restricted bike for two years, and then you can ride anything.

Preparing for the test.

After you have taken the CBT, you could buy a 125cc bike, practice riding it, go and take the test when you feel ready.
However we would recommend that you have a few lessons during the few weeks prior to your test make sure that you are still doing the right things.

Alternatively, you could just have motorbike training lessons using one of our bikes, this is a better option if you wish to get onto a slightly bigger bike, therefore don't want the expense of buying a 125cc bike.

All 125cc lessons are on a One student to One instructor basis.

The following price list includes CBT, Practical Test fee, Test attendance, Bike Hire (new 2007 bikes), Fuel and CDW (Crash Damage Waver):

  • Experienced. A 10 hour course for people who already ride a geared bike regularly @ £500 (if required, further hours @ £38 per hour)
  • Standard. A 13 hour course for people who have had reasonable experience on a geared bike @ £580 (if required, further hours @ £30 per hour)
  • Novice. A 16 hour course for novice riders @ £660 (if required, further hours @ £30 per hour)

All these are for experienced car drivers. Non drivers would need more time. You will still need to take a motorcycle theory test (not included in the above prices). If you already have a valid CBT deduct £90 from the above prices.
